It’s that time again… CHIC AT EVERY AGE. This week, we’re styling a WHITE BUTTON-UP SHIRT!
For those of you that have just tuned in, this fab collab is exactly how it sounds… a chic chick in her 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s shows you how to style a piece in their own way. I’m working with some of my FAVORITE gals in Dallas!!

The 50-something // Cathy of The Middle Page

I know what you’re thinking… another white shirt?! YES, it is another white shirt. I thought the same things. When it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. It is a gauzy material (literally reminds me of gauze!) that flows really well, is somewhat transparent, a unique sleeve attachment (ruffle thing!), and has deep side splits which allows for some fun play when it comes to styling it. It comes in a light blue and grey color as well.
THE STYLE Rx: You can never go wrong with a white button-up shirt. Find a style that works for you whether it’s an oxford or something more boho like above!
Cathy is always so fresh and wore it with camo jeans (I love them) and those amazing pearl slides. I’m pretty sure I need those in my life! That’s one of the problems when we meet up. I always find something that needs to go into my closet. Heather wore a black bralette under the top and high waisted jeans. I love the Y-necklace that she wore with it.
I decided to go more “casual” this time and wore my top tied in front with denim shorts. BTW, Heather is the one that convinced to get those shorts, and they are the best pair I’ve ever owned. I’m a cheapie when it comes to cut-off shorts because I don’t understand why they have to cost the same price as jeans when they are cut off!! Anyhow, these are high-waisted with a button-fly and length that is flattering but doesn’t show your bum cheeks!
And those nude pearl booties… Aah! I found those when we were in Seattle and I was on the hunt for a pair of comfy shoes. I brought flat sandals (without support) and my feet were killing me! They were NOT part of the #NSale but I couldn’t part ways with them.
FIT DETAILS: The shirt is oversized so go down a size. I’m wearing XS. The denim shorts run large. I’m wearing size 25 (normally 26), and they are very comfy. The pearl booties also run large, so size down a half to a whole size. I normally wear 8.5 but have on size 8. Of note, my ankles are really bony, and the V-part of the boot rubs them. Just an FYI.
How would you wear this white button-up top?
Happy Friday Loves! Hope everyone has had a wonderful week. The sun started shining and some of the water has receded in Houston, but there is still a lot of work to be done for those affected by Hurricane Harvey. So many are dealing with losses. I broke down this morning when I found out about one of my best friend’s tragedy. I’m listing ways to help again. Sorry for the redundancy of Wednesday’s post.
