#ManicMomDay // Frank & Eileen Shirt

Happy Monday Loves! It’s the second installment of #ManicMomDay!

Every other Monday, I’ll be sharing an outfit that I’ve worn with the kids or running errands. This blog post series was born after y’all so graciously did the reader survey and told me you wanted MORE CASUAL! You got it! By the way, the name comes from a play on The Bangles song, “Manic Monday”, just in case you didn’t get it.

Angie took these pictures a year and a half ago (basically right before we were placed with Baby Girl). I never posted them because I thought they were “too casual” for the blog. LOL! Well, here they are now! I hope you don’t consider it cheating since they are older and professional pictures!

WEATHER //

It was sunny and in the 90s. This was a Spring outfit for 2016!

ACTIVITY //

It was just us and Little M at the time. I wore this outfit to bring him to TCU Music Class. We sit and play on the floor during those classes so I needed either pants or a longer skirt to wear with him.

WEARING //

Linen is one of my favorite materials to wear when it’s hot. I have two Frank & Eileen linen shirts, and they are so good for looking casual but still put together when the temperatures are up. Frank & Eileen makes such a good I’m-wearing-a-button-up-shirt-and-look-casually-cool shirt! ;)

Just a little note: the first button starts a little low so your undergarments could show. You can either pin it or wear a bralette (meant to show) or cami underneath. The linen has some structure so I just wore it as is.

White distressed jeans were a great pairing since I wanted to keep cool and also be able to move around on the floor. These are Target jeans that are 100% cotton and very washable. In fact, my sweet cat who has since passed threw up on these jeans, and I didn’t see until a day later. They recovered with a good washing! Haha!

Regarding the accessories, I threw on the scarf for the blog but wore this outfit without it in real life. I also wear much less jewelry (the bracelets) when I’m hanging out with the kids. The belt, bag, and sandals are some of my everyday staples.

Let me know what you think about this blog series, #ManicMomDay! I always love to hear feedback so that I can continue to serve y’all in a helpful way!

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend. We had lots of family time – my absolute favorite! Yesterday, we went to our usual locals (Starbucks and the Fort Worth Water Gardens) after church, and then we headed over to the Modern Museum for lunch (as seen on Instagram Stories). That is one of my FAVORITE places. Mr. S and I were chatting and decided 1) we wished we could live on their Patio and 2) we need to go there more often. The kids LOVED running around the lawn and enjoyed the exhibits. BTW, we had to hold hands with Little M or carry Baby MJ because some of the artwork is ground level!
