Happy New Year!!! What a year! As usual, I was late on the photos for Christmas, so here are our Christmas turned New Years Family Photos for cards! Hopefully, our cards will be delivered before Valentine’s Day! For the past two years, we have worn light/cream colors for the photos. This year, we needed some slimming colors! LOL! Thank you #covid19pounds! We seem to work extra hard on “the eating” during the holiday season too! LOL! Anyhow, we are grateful to Angie who always does a beautiful job with photos. She usually does blog/ editorial work so having her do our family portraits is extra special.

The ones in the pink jacket were inspired by an editorial photo that I saw in Vogue. They didn’t end up exactly the same, but still, they are fun! Also, I had some other photo ideas with the pink peonies! :)

I try to wear what we have in our closets for photos. Since Little M doesn’t really own any black shirts or jackets, we went with navy. My dress is a past season dress that I got on sale because I couldn’t resist the heart buttons. I’m totally cheesy, and I know it!

God is greater than the highs and lows. John 16:33

As I stop to reflect on this last year, I am very grateful. All of us have gone through hardship. The difficulties make me appreciate the happy times so much more. There is a quote, “Without the lows, you cannot experience the highs.” I believe that is true. I have faith in God, and that makes me feel solid. I’m not very good at expressing my faith, only that I have it. Anyhow, I hope that you can feel a sense of renewed hope and security for the upcoming year.

Normally, I would go through New Year’s Resolutions or goals. I don’t have any of that ready right now. However, I usually have a word for the year, and my word is GROWTH. I want to grow in faith, happiness, trust, business, and love.

Even though I pray in the mornings, I’ve been feeling so distracted and unsettled. I have faith but want to increase it and speak more with God. I consider myself a naturally happy person, but I feel like my outlook on things have been different this year (as it has for most of us). This has bled onto my children which I don’t love, so I want to grow in happiness to share with them. It’s hard to share this, but I lost trust in humanity for a while and that sent me into a downward spiral. I’m out of it, but I want to increase my hope and trust in this part. I want to keep growing my business, Style of Sam, to make a positive impact on people! And finally, I always want to grow my love so that it can shine like a light on all. I am an idealist at heart and really believe that LOVE CONQUERS ALL!  (Hopefully, my waist doesn’t follow this word. I’m okay if that stays the same! LOL!)

What are your goals, dreams, or word for 2021? Did you take Christmas or New Years Family photos?

SUSTAINABLE STYLE: My earrings are vintage Chanel purchased on eBay or Poshmark awhile ago! They are an investment piece, but definitely add some glam to any outfit! Vintage jewelry pieces are an easy way to elevate an outfit.
