Why Everyone Needs a Pink Top in their Wardrobe

When this beautiful blush pink pleated tunic arrived from Charles Youssef, I was ecstatic. We met last November at the CFDA Incubators x W Hotels Event in Dallas (more on that soon). He was my favorite designer, and I placed an order for this pink piece and an amazing off the shoulder pleated top. One of the best things about blogging is getting the opportunity to meet people who I wouldn’t normally meet!

I’m trying something different with today’s post and answering the four W’s of this fabulous top! Let me know what you think about this format.

WHO //
Charles Youssef is one of ten labels for CFDA {Fashion Incubator} Program 4.0. He attended Parsons School of Design and Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design (where one of my other faves also attended). His work is so beautiful and architectural that it caught the eye of Lady Gaga who wore his pieces during her 2010 tour. Tomorrow at NYFW, Charles will be showing his AW17 collection which is available to view at his showroom by appointment from Feb 13th – 24th. You may contact them via email at info@charlesyoussef.com. I wish that I could see his presentation because I know it will be amazing. {Besides ordering here, you can also find his pieces online at Barneys, Rue Boutique, and The Real Real.}

WHAT //
A pleated pink tunic top – The pleats and lines of this top take away anything too frilly about pink and make it modern and polished. It is a beautiful blush color that is a perfect understated shade. It’s pink but not too pink. I would almost call it a neutral. I’m wearing it as a tunic top over boyfriend jeans, but it would be fabulous worn as a light coat over a dress or with a tank + skinny jeans. It makes me love it even more.

WHY //
Y’all know pink is my FAVORITE color, so it’s no surprise here that I would own a pink top. However, some really shy away from this color. In my humble opinion, they should NOT!!

FIRST, remember the words of John Fussell (Chanel Global Makeup Artist)? WEAR PINK! It’s calming and can bring your heart rate down. Wear pink lips or something pink to meet someone new.

SECOND, you just need to find the right SHADE OF PINK. This pleated pink tunic is a beautiful blush color that is a perfect understated shade. It’s pink but not too pink. I would almost call it a neutral. Think of it like your makeup blush color. They are all varying shades of pink with either a cooler or warmer undertone. Go for a pink that you wear on your cheeks!

WHERE //
I wore this outfit to the new Neiman Marcus Fort Worth media preview. The top would be perfect to wear to church, a dinner date, or a trip to the museum. BTW, the new Neiman Marcus Fort Worth store is absolutely GORGEOUS with memory mirrors in the makeup and clothing department! You are able to send over a recording of your makeover or a favorite outfit to your phone!

THE STYLE Rx // Everyone needs a good pink piece in their wardrobe. It will look good on you as well as make you feel good! I am a little biased, but I LOVE this pleated tunic by Charles Youssef.

Are you a pink person? What pink pieces do you own? And isn’t this tunic fabulous??!!

It’s hump day, and I’m super tired!! Did y’all do anything fun for Valentine’s Day? I worked an evening shift yesterday so I didn’t get home until later. We never really go out for VDay anymore because all of the restaurants are packed, and everything is so crazy! I prefer going out on a different night “just because”!
