Try a Trend: Color Blocking

One of this season’s biggest trends is color-blocking, seen here on the runway for Gucci.  I love the boldness and richness of the colors.

I decided to try the concept with some things from my closet.  The top and skirt are both from my mom.  She found the top at a resale shop.  I love it, but hardly find the occasion to wear it!

top: MaxMara
skirt: Gap
belt: Betsy Johnson
shoes: Coach
(close up of the top – LOVE the way it ties!)

(Trying the colors with a gold belt and nude shoes – I immediately felt like Wonder Woman with the belt.)

This butterfly clutch is very special.  It belonged to Mr. S’s aunt who passed in 2003.  She was always very accepting and caring to me.

bracelet: F21
belt- ? brand from Ross
clutch – gifted from MIL

  1. Hi Sam, I love your blog! I like how you show you interpret the trends. A lot of fashion bloggers seem to take the easy route and post cheap dupes to replace an identical runway item. Here you look great: Gucci meets Wonder Woman! Not only have you captured the color blocking, but also a kind of Grecian look I also tend to find with Gucci clothing–yet yours was MaxMara. I definitely subscribed! I hope you will consider subscribing to my blog as well.

  2. Hi Lexy! Welcome! I try to “interpret” the trend and see what I have in the closet to make it work! Thanks for visiting and I will definitely check out your blog! :o)
